Elam Egypt is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention, Georgia Baptist Convention. The church is located in Effingham County, approximately ten miles north of Guyton, Georgia and has a current Sunday morning attendance of about 55. Elam Egypt has strongly affirmed our affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention.
The sanctuary building was built in 1902 and can seat approximately 180 persons without adding chairs. The altar area was redone in 1998 as well as adding new pews and carpeting. An Educational Building, built in 1986 has a fellowship hall with kitchen facilities, the church office, treasurer's office, and ten class rooms of various sizes. In 2010 the Hall property adjacent on the south side of the sanctuary was purchased from the surviving members of the Hall family and is used for different church functions. Sunday school classes are provided from nursery through senior adults with attendance averaging about 75 percent of the morning worship attendance. There is a very active youth program, WMU, Brotherhood, Senior Adults (Egyptian Travelers) and Music Ministry. We currently have several members who have outreach music ministries.
The 2022-23 Church budget is about $119,000. Cooperative Program Mission giving has been at least ten percent of the tithes plus other mission programs.
The public school system of Effingham County is reasonably conservative and conform to the legal guidelines of the Georgia Public School System. The school system currently has two high schools, three middle schools, six elementary schools and various pre-k and early learning centers located throughout the county. There are one private christian school located at Ephesus Baptist Church in Rincon. Various colleges are located within about a 50 mile radius of the Egypt community.

The body supported, and continues to support, Mercer University, The Christian Index (the state Baptist periodical), and various state and national Baptist mission, educational, and publication projects.
